I built my own desk (a collaboration with beautiful Walnut) and also cried over a houseplant cutting that took three months to grow a single root. I’m the kind of person who gets distracted by details and follows every bunny trail—not always helpful, but it keeps life interesting.
When I was 19 and pregnant, everyone predicted doom. I had this quiet knowing they were wrong, and twenty-something years later, turns out inner wisdom beats other people’s fears most of the time. Though my anxiety still hasn’t gotten that memo when it’s catastrophizing about potential futures.
I have the usual hobbies—crochet, watercolor, pottery—but I also like to pretend I can harmonize with any song when I’m alone in my car. Sometimes the best moments happen when no one’s watching and we give ourselves permission to be slightly ridiculous. That plant cutting is thriving now, by the way.
